Yes, they are. The way that shows like this work is that they convince you that the show is really popular with moronic plebs, so you tune in to see what the moronic plebs are watching and laugh at how bad their show is. In reality, everyone watches it with exact same sense of detached irony. Feeling superior to some imagined audience who "really" like the show is the whole point.
